We were driving home the other nite, late ar, so it's very dark... Then out of a sudden I got a shock, this was what I saw out the window...

SCARIE yeah?! CRAZIE too... Somemore so dark there ok? What if a motorbike drive pass? His legs were dangling out and it is SO dangerous leh... it might cause mishap for other people... ISH!
Look at his legs carefully, it's swollen and bruised... Sometimes it's so sad to see things like this... Sad that this is how some of the people is living, or rather, some of the people CHOSED to live...

I have seen a few that came to my mom's shop, asking for money, telling us they haven't got money to eat and all, and when offered the deal of, OK, I pay everything, drinks food, you sit and order whatever you want, they decline and say just give me the money, I go eat elsewhere.... YEAH RITE! of course we don't give... LIKE REAL they going to eat with the money? Just going to buy more of their 'drugs'!!! grr...

I have been getting a few enquiries lately, on how to migrate NEW BLOGGER to wordpress... Yeah, everyone's migrating to wordpress already... Of course some is due to the fact that they've signed up for own domain (in my case)... I've moved to http://www.shannonchong.com SUCCESSFULLY... hehehe

Below are the steps you can follow... :D

1) Sign up for an account in wordpress.com (free wordpress). This is because WP2.1 (own domain installation) is not supporting NEW BLOGGER yet...

2) Do an import of the post from your blogger... (in wordpress.com)Click on MANAGE, then on IMPORT, and then BLOGGER... Login to your blogger through the screen provided after that, and click IMPORT...

3) Once this is done, you should be able to see all your post in your wordpress blog... If you plan to use the free wordpress (not using your own domain), VOILA your migration is completed... (though this step is mainly for those that is looking to move into their own domain)...

4) If interested, you can delete any post that you don't wish to move to your domain here... Once completed, do an export, as per shown in the print screen below...
Click on MANAGE, then EXPORT... If required, select the author you wish to restrict, but in common cases, just leave it as it is (All) and click on DOWNLOAD EXPORT FILE...

5) Once this is done, login to the dashboard on your own domain...From here, click on MANAGE, then on IMPORT... You should be able to see the list of supported import as shown in the print screen... Click on WORDPRESS...

6) You should see the screen as below.....Click on BROWSE and select location of the file that you have saved in step 4... and click on UPLOAD FILE AND IMPORT....

~VOILA~
Congratulations... You have migrated your new blogger to wordpress... :D
Do leave your new domain URL here, so I can go visit visit too... :D

No no... Not a sponsored post...

Well, this blog was featured as the blog of the day in payperpost for 27 February... WOO HOO!!! FINALLY... And I found out how...

For those PPP posties which are interested, I think this is the way to be featured...

"BE THAT LAST PERSON TO SUBMIT AN OPP FOR THE DAY BEFORE"

SERIOUSLY... How else could it be? I was previously told to be the first postie, but then I saw that for some of the days I checked, the blog of the day was up, but no Top Earners for the day was listed, so how can a person be the first to post if no one earned any money?? That was why I tried to post in the last few minutes of the day before... and TADAA, I'm now featured for today... hehehe

Yeah... Fun is over...
I have been waiting for what seem to be AGES for this week of NY holidays and it's over in a matter of blinks... A little boring it was in the start, but then, it's over now... How could it be saturday already??????? So fast hoh?

It's always like this, when you are waiting for a holiday, the time seem to be snailing, but then when the holiday finally arrives, it sails darn fast... SIGH

When is the next holiday?? :(

As you've known by now, I've moved the main "Crumbs in Life....." blog to www.shannonchong.com, which is on wordpress... After a long 1++ years of blogspot-ing, I found that working around wordpress is a pain in the ass... *slap forehead*

Maybe I just need to get used to it... This is what I kept repeating to myself...
Or, maybe I should learn up PHP... Then I could understand the template pages like I understand blogspot in classic template, so I can change it according to how I like it, AS I LIKE IT! Cuz, until now, I still can't find a template that I like which is working fine with everything... And BELIEVE me when I say I'm starting to get frustrated!!

I guess I should just look at this as my LONG OVERDUE learning experience eh? hahaha... START LEARNING PHP!!!

WooHoo...
Yes, I've used the PPP money I've earned and registered for a domain and web hosting through exabytes... I'm currently in the means of setting it up, so in VERY near future (cross fingers) Crumb In Life..... will have a new home... It will be transferred to www.shannonchong.com...

My plan is to move all my personal post (and Rachel's of course) to the domain, and continue to use this blogspot to do PPP... hehehe... Yeah, seriously, PPP IS a source of easy money... Now, the next thing is, I'm eyeing a DVD set of Baby Einstein for Rachel, and I'll be able to order it (By it now) on ebay in 3 days time, even after deducting the money that I paid for the hosting and domain... Do the maths, I would even have extra money left, maybe can order a baby car seat eh? pay for delivery also nevemind lar, hehehe, PPP sponsored! WAHAHA... (NO LAR! This is NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT a sponsored post)... However, if you are interested, you can either click on the PPP badge on the far bottom right corner of my blog and sign up, or click below, sign up, and review my post (yeah, and get paid for reviewing my post wor)... hehehe...

Now, I'm off to setup the new domain for the next few days (I hope it doesn't reach week, *fingers crosed*)....

WAHSAEE! This warehouse sales, next time I DON'T wanna go liao loo... Not because it's not cheap, but because it's a CRAZIE queue & crowd... The amount of people there is scary, you migh think that they are giving out free stuff! haha...

We went there for the mamypoko nappies, but to our horror, the queue was about 100m!! I was going to give it a miss (not THAT cheap lar) but then I saw someone familiar in the line (way front too leh)... Yes yes, it was laundryamah's maid!! Looked around for her and yeah, she was at the side, filling up the form of what she wanna buy... Hehe... Yes lar, I added my order to her list (yeah, bad hoh, but then those at the back still wait the same amount of time, not that I stood in and take up another space, hehe, sorry yeah), and oo, I have to admit, I was SO SO happy I gave Amah a kiss on her hands... hahaha... MUACKS! <- another 1 for helping me get it (Thanks a lot lot)... All the cheaper ones were sold out! scary right? ish... We did buy Fisher Price toys for Rachel too, and was told it was about 40% cheaper than retail price, so not too bad lar... However, I don't think I want to go for Diethelm warehouse sales in the future, too too TOOOO much of a crowd for my comfort...

My mum was with us, cuz we were to send her for her normal checkup in SJMC after that, so she got to meet Amah! After buying and all, mum asked me, wher you met that friend of yours? She was amazed when I told her, my blog friends, like saying, HUH?! SO GOOD FRIEND!... Yeah, she's right... Like what Sasha said in her blog, I'm thankful to this blog, which made me lotsa cool parent-friends to share thoughts and laughters and fears together... All of the same wavelength mar... :D

I received an forwarded email on Eye On Malaysia yesterday...
I must admit, being skeptical after all the reports of how it was faulty the previous weekend, and the tax money spent in there (together with the fireworks every night!!), the photos were captivating!!!

This is one of my fav...
(I did not take the photo, I didn't edit it, as it is not mine to do so - Credit goes to hyin21@gmail.com)

The pic could be better, but I like the backdrop of Twin Tower and KL Tower... It does remind me of the London Eye (I'll go back and check on my London photos to see if I have any to show) with Big Ben behind it... They should keep this around after Visit Malaysia Year '07... THEY SHOULD!!

I must visit at night lar, so I can take photos... Anyone interested?? Lets plan!! hahaha... :D

I suddenly saw today, that this is how much my blog is worth!
BUT! This is only true when I put in
shannonchong.blogspot.com/
but when I put
shannonchong.blogspot.com
the value is only $16,936.20.

Why? Is it because everyone linked up to me with the '/' at the back?
Does it make such a big difference?

Anyway, can I sell it? hahaha... Can I actually sell my blog and get that much money??
I WISH!!! hahaha...
Or convert this worth into business opportunity?? hmm... think later lar... :P

p/s: For those of you that are interested to check your blog worth, look for the link on the bottom right side bar of this blog... :D

Disclaimer : This is what I heard from Tecky's colleague (she is staying near, so I think this is quite accurate), I hope that someone can tell me if this is true...

We all know that they have erected the Eye of Malaysia in Tasik Titiwangsa, yeah? That itself, I felt was a waste of money, in the sense that they RENTED the structure and at the end of this Visit Malaysia Year '07, they will tear it down!!!

Anyway, this is what I heard... THEY HAVE FIREWORKS THERE THIS FEW WEEKS, EVERY NIGHT, FOR ONE HOUR! WHAT IS THE POINT?! Is there really that many 'tourists' that you ought to burn SO MUCH money every night????? FIREWORK SHOW FOR ONE HOUR!!!!!

According to the 'source', it is disturbing, how not, when it goes on everyday for an hour (said to be around 8++ pm or so... But seriously, that would cost probably a 4 digit sum, and wouldn't it be better to spend those money to help the flood victim for example??? I mean, of course everyone loves fireworks, but I still don't see the point of doing it daily, and no one knows about this!!

Anyone staying near there?
Anyone heard of the same thing?
Anyone can give a 2nd confirmation that this is true?

I saw this on a forwarded email yesterday, and can't help but blog about it... No copyright information stated in the email, so I must firstly say, I DID NOT TAKE THE PHOTOS, and I don't know which TV program this is from, but I'm guessing the taiwanese tv show hosted by Jacky... I might be wrong... :D

What do you think?

Possible or not?

Don't you feel that she purposely make her actual self look sad?

I think they purposely lar, to show the difference...

Hahaha...

Yeah, yeah...

You've guessed it right...

I am just trying to separate the before and after photos...

I WAS SO STOOOOOPID! STEWPIG! SI-TU-PID! STUPID! STOOOOOOOOOOOOPIIIIDDD!
STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID

I could not stress that enough! SO ANGRY with MYSELF for my stupidity...

Now, this is a warning, pass this story to everyone else, and make sure they don't act as stupid as I did! :(

Yesterday evening while I was coming out of the carpark, stopped at the junction because the cars were coming (green light there mar), cannot go out... This guy, looking lost and all, walked up to me and asked me to wine (wind? wine? how do you say that?) down my window, and instinctively, I did tell myself, wahlau, this is scary, but STUPIDLY, I still did! I did lock my door instantly, and he said something in the line of "I came from Shanghai, here looking for a friend that is studying here... I coudln't find him, and I got no money... You will probably laugh at this, but please help fellow chinese, give me a bit of money to eat"... it wasn't that short, but as he was telling his long story, he walked nearer and nearer, I was SO afraid, my only thought is, give him RM5 and get him out of here... I asked him, how come you came from Shanghai and didn't have money, he said he was rob (how lame was that? and how STOOPID I was to brush this off because of my fear of him attacking me in other ways)... I open my wallet (thinking I'd rather part with RM5 than to get hurt or risk him snatching anything else), took out RM5 (all through that time he was telling me to give him my phone number, and he'll call me and return me the money tomorrow, taking his phone out, and coming nearer with his phone in his hand), when he see RM5, he told me, RM5 not enough, please lend me RM10, which at this time, his right hand was already in the car (yeah, I was so stupid I opened the window big enough that his hands could come in, STOOPID!)... Seriously, I was afraid he'd pull some stunt, grab something or something (!!), so without saying anything, I just pulled out RM10 and pushed him out... He asked for my phone further, which I didn't give and then I just drive off...

All the way after that, all I can think of was, HOW STUPID I WAS... Sigh, when I told Tecky, and to console me, he said, my mistake was that I opened the window, and the RM10 is to buy my safety and cover for my earlier mistake!

SO, NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER open your window to anyone... I did, because I was sympathetic towards him, and I still gave benefit to the doubt to everyone... ISH! So angry with myself! What is this society becoming?? :(
At the time I was talking to Tecky, I still feel like, what if he's for real, then he'll really go hungry, VERY POOR THING leh, no food to eat...

Anyhow, I found out that it was a scam afterall (who was I kidding lar) when I told this to my mom, and she said for the whole day in the shop, her customers were telling her stories of this scam (in little changes here and there, some saying cheque didn't clear, some saying couldn't get his boss, that kinda bluff lar)... I was lucky I parted with RM10, some were RM50 and so on...

So, if you were me in that situation, would you have given?

~ Backdated Post ~
Cause : CANNOT upload to youTube!!! :(

Disclaimer : This post is purely for entertainment purposes... hehehe

During New Year Eve, we were at my uncle's place... Rachel was a little cranky, so to keep her entertained, we let her sit in front of my cousins' piano, and I 'taught' her how to make sound out of it... The first time times, her face was all crunched up, looking staring at the piano weirdly... Then she started to get the hang of it... In the end, we ended up getting the entertainment more than her... hahaha... But I have to admit, we (ME at least) got a little annoyed by the banging, and had to stop her from it... hehehe... Silly mother!

p/s: That's the maid-cum-sitter, Tina... The video's a little dark, because uncle's living room was a little dim at that time... :D

Click for bigger view
Hehehe... That's the name of my family's coffee shop... It got featured in a magazine this month (NEWTIDE if I'm not mistaken)... They had this booklet of good food in Klang (I THINK)... (aiyah, cannot blame me lar, I don't read chinese)....

Well, I don't quite remember what they said in the article, but it was something along the line of how the shop is well known for it's coffee in Klang, and you'll see lotsa customers that frequent the shop daily etc etc etc... I DON'T READ CHINESE, needed translation from my bro, haha... But I coudln't remember lar... :D
However, I have to say this, the article was good, of course they put my mom's words into much nicer and flowery sentences with bombastic words which we didn't believe mom would have said (cuz mom also don't read chinese), which she laughed at and said she actually said something else, something more plain, but it still gives the same meaning... BUT BUT, I feel the photos taken did not do any justice to the coffee and bread! I could have taken better... Even with my Sanyo... WASTED!! Check out the photos I took below, a while back which I found on my flickr... :D
The shop has been there for 50++ years, started by my grandparents (father side)... Grandpa started with his own coffee brewing recipe, and his homemade 'kaya' (coconut jam like bread spread, hehe.. can it be called this??)... When my grandpa got old, my dad resigned from his teaching profession to take over... When he got sick (yeah, he was sick about 9 years ago, and passed away 4 years back), my mom took an early retirement from teaching (yeah lor, they met in teachers college, hehehe) and take care of the shop... For now, my brother is slowly taking it over from my mom, but even after so many change of 'management' (HAHAHA), the coffee and 'kaya' is still the same...

There are customers which comes daily for the coffee, some even a few times a day, since before my birth... These uncles and aunties are still visiting daily, and sorta like saw me grew up... Many meet daily in the shop and became drinking (coffee drinking) friends... During peak hours, you can see so many people standing and waiting for seat, you just feel like giving up... But I respect them, they still stood and waited for seat patiently... Or most of the time, share tables with someone else lor... For me, I have a special reserved place... If there's no table available, I eat at the counter, standing up... hahaha....
Tecky calls these customers drug-addicts... Cuz whenever mom closes on some public holidays, these customers will be there earlier the next day, and asking mom, why close lar? hahaha... :D

So yeah, I grew up drinking coffee... When I was younger, the bread were toasted on charcoal, but now, electric lar... I still love it... I eat since young, but I STILL eat every other week or so, when I have time to go over... Everytime I go over, the MUST haves are: toasted bread, coffee, eggs... hehehe... MUST have!!! Next time you come for visit in Klang, ring me up, I can bring you over... I've took many of my friends there, everyone love the toasted bread with the 'kaya'... It STILL is homemade (err, shopmade lar), and they are made daily....

In a Nutshell
Will I visit again : OF COURSE LAR!

~Backdated Post ~
p/s: MORE to come, cuz I don't have time to edit the photos... Some backdated video post too, cuz I couldn't upload to youTube... *shrug*

Rachel attended her first baby fullmoon party on 2nd January 2007 (last Tuesday)... It was for my secondary school mate's daughter (Cheryl Goh)... Little angel was born in a very entertaining labour story from her mother (HAVE to say this, cuz it's really farnee)... According to fwen's hubby, she even spoke to the doctor in several languages (chinese dialects lar), and 'fought' with doctor when her gas was taken away... Lots more, but I guess that's her, always the bubbly farnee person... Baby Cheryl is healthy and has put on more than 1kg in the first month itself... Sleeps a lot too, I've seen her 2 times, and all she does is SLEEP! I SO ENVY!!!!!!!! (Rachel did sleep that much even in her first month)...
Cheryl's Fullmoon Party
Group photo (Left to Right) : Shirley, Me & Rachel, Fwen's nieces (don't know name ler), Fwen (Vivien) & Cheryl, Anna, Terrilyn
p/s: if you look closely on my shoulder, you'll see it's all WET, because Rachel was biting on it!!!! And I'm all sweaty, after a whole night of carrying Rachel, since she didn't want Tecky to carry her either... *roll eyes*

Rachel with KidsI have realised for a while now, that Rachel LOVES to be around kids... During the party, she was fussing quite a bit (sleepy mar), so I was carrying her standing, and walking around... When we reached the swing where lotsa other kids were, she just stare and laugh to them... When my fwen's niece came and talk to Rachel, she just stare attentively and looks like she really listened!!! Very soon, I will have to remember to bring Rachel out to playground and such, for her to socialise with other kids, cuz she LOVES looking at them... ALWAYS! Everywhere!!! When we go out eating in restaurants, she does this too, stare and laugh/smile at other kids!! At age of 7++ months, already courting boys!! Next time must lock her up... hahaha....

Woo Hoo!!!
That's our new toy... Yes, yes... A Nikon D70...

Remember I said I was looking forward to possibility of getting it? Yippee Yippee Yeah Yeah... We got it from my uncle on 29th Dec... You see, he bought a brand new D200, so this would be an 'outcast' (WHAT?! D70 an outcast? WHERE CAN?!), so since Tecky and I planned to get one for ourselves, we force uncle (he initially told us to just borrow it whenever we want to use, but then we want it everyday mar! hehehe) to 'sell' it to us second hand lor... And we got a VERY good deal from him, and erm, I'm a little embarrased to say how much I paid for it, but lets put this way, that he practically gave it to us as partial gift... :D

Whole weekend, we took zillion of photos! Bought a new 1G CF memory card costing us RM130, and Tecky is planning to get a waist pouch for it, so we can conveniently bring it around... I still have my Sanyo Xacti J4 for daily photos, but the D70 made the end of 2006 a sweeter one... More photos to come (I already have quite a bit of good photos through the weekend from this new toy to post about)... But there definitel is more emotions captured in D70 compared to my J4, can see more o Rachel's laughter compared to blurred out photos from J4...

We are still learning and playing around with the settings, and I hope to get used to i by Chinese New Year... :D

WOO HOO!!!!
*dance dance dance*
*fingers pointing in the air*
*dance dance dance*
WOO HOO!!!!

WAHAHA!! Today is the last working day of 2006! Then I'll have 2 more 2006 days to spend with loved ones, and see to a wonderful start of 2007!!! Aren't you excited???

Now, first of, let me sum 2006 in a short paragraph...

It was been a GREAT year, it HAS to be, with the birth of little Rachel, how could it be otherwise? Many things happened this year, lotsa first experiences, like pregnancy (of course this spanned across 2005 and 2006) and also LABOUR!!!!! Tecky had a good raise and hopefully a good bonus coming up... Mom's arthritis pain is getting a little better and she's having lotsa travelling time now since brother is helping out in the shop... MIL's fibroid is removed and she's doing wonderfully well... Grandma-in-law is getting more cheerful (we suspect is because the of the arrival of her great granddaughter)... Lots more blessings to count, but RACHEL by herself has made everything else insignificant... How could I not look forward to a good 2007? Isn't God wonderful? :D
I'm very sure I missed out a lot of good things (and bad things of course along the way), but can't help it, my short term memory after labour is still bugging me... ANYHOW, I'll remember the good ones...

Here are the things to look forward to (or hope for) for 2007:
  • Rachel walking and talking (and other developments lar) <- looking forward to this very much.. Imagine her playing and jumping around (I know sure tough, but but, which mother doesn't look forward to it?)
  • A D70 for more fabulicious photos (:D)
  • Paying off more of the homeloan (hopefully we can cut a big chunk of it off by 2007)
  • A new car maybe (hahaha)
  • etc...
Now, of course the list doesn't stop, but for now, let's just concentrate on my blessings... hahaha.... A LONG WEEKEND to look forward to, a great countdown family dinner (with my uncle and aunts), a good lunch lined up for new year's day... Lotsa makan and weight gaining, but I DON'T CARE!!!! :D

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!
HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY AND LETS ALL LOOK FORWARD TO 2007 TOGETHER!
*MUACKS*
