Last Sunday, despite having a cracked head (wahaha), we went Johor (Batu Pahat) for my grandma's 88th birthday... EIGHTY EIGHT leh, cannot miss no matter what, somemore grandma always seem happier if we were there, and also Rachel haven't met this greatgrandma of hers (yeah, she has 3 of them, 1 in Klang, 1 in Ipoh and another in Johor)...
Seriously, just think about it, she's 88 years old, how many more birthdays can we spend with her, another 10 would be a blessing eh? -- NOT that I want anything to happen to her, but we need to face the facts sometimes...
Just so you guys know, WE DIDN'T BRING A LOT OF THINGS THIS TIME AROUND... We initially planned to stay overnight, as I was on MC on Monday (to open stitches mar), so thought no need so rush, since the dinner was at night... We only brought 1 big bag for the clothes for all 3 of us (Tecky, Rachel and me lor), 1 bring around bag for Rachel and and and, THAT'S IT! WAHAHA... MAJOR improvement eh??? Anyhow, we came back the same night after all the preparation, because my mom wouldn't want to let my brother drive alone, after the accident he had the other day... hmm...
It was
Aiyoh, my story damn long this time...Anyway, Rachel met with many of her cousins (first time meeting relative that is of same generation as her leh), and her 10 days older cousin (daughter of my cousin that is residing in Miri now, they came back for the occasion & CNY)... That's her (name is EnEn) in the photo... I TELL YOU!!! So different carrying her and Rachel leh, she's so much easier to carry, lighter (average weight as opposed to the overweight daughter of mine) and doesn't struggle as much as Rachel, and she quietly lets EVERYONE carry her...
What I was disturbed is that, cousin didn't tell me that EnEn was sick, until after we let all the kids play together and touch and all, then only say, she's sick! AIYOH, I hope Rachel doesn't catch the virus.... :|
Anyhow, Rachel was averagely obedient... haha... No major fuss, except she doesn't allow ANYONE to carry her, except me... So I didn't have much time to catch up with the rest of my cousins... The dinner was OK, Rachel had bits and pieces of things (mostly baby biscuits and bread) throughout... And lastly, let me show you PART of the havoc... hahaha... Below is the photo of maybe a quarter of the family in the restaurant... There was about 20 tables dinner, inclusive of some extended family and friends...

~Backdated Post ~
p/s: MORE to come, cuz I don't have time to edit the photos... Some backdated video post too, cuz I couldn't upload to youTube... *shrug*
Rachel attended her first baby fullmoon party on 2nd January 2007 (last Tuesday)... It was for my secondary school mate's daughter (Cheryl Goh)... Little angel was born in a very entertaining labour story from her mother (HAVE to say this, cuz it's really farnee)... According to fwen's hubby, she even spoke to the doctor in several languages (chinese dialects lar), and 'fought' with doctor when her gas was taken away... Lots more, but I guess that's her, always the bubbly farnee person... Baby Cheryl is healthy and has put on more than 1kg in the first month itself... Sleeps a lot too, I've seen her 2 times, and all she does is SLEEP! I SO ENVY!!!!!!!! (Rachel did sleep that much even in her first month)...

Group photo (Left to Right) : Shirley, Me & Rachel, Fwen's nieces (don't know name ler), Fwen (Vivien) & Cheryl, Anna, Terrilyn
p/s: if you look closely on my shoulder, you'll see it's all WET, because Rachel was biting on it!!!! And I'm all sweaty, after a whole night of carrying Rachel, since she didn't want Tecky to carry her either... *roll eyes*

I have realised for a while now, that Rachel LOVES to be around kids... During the party, she was fussing quite a bit (sleepy mar), so I was carrying her standing, and walking around... When we reached the swing where lotsa other kids were, she just stare and laugh to them... When my fwen's niece came and talk to Rachel, she just stare attentively and looks like she really listened!!! Very soon, I will have to remember to bring Rachel out to playground and such, for her to socialise with other kids, cuz she LOVES looking at them... ALWAYS! Everywhere!!! When we go out eating in restaurants, she does this too, stare and laugh/smile at other kids!! At age of 7++ months, already courting boys!! Next time must lock her up... hahaha....Labels: Blogging, Kids, Rachel's Outing

We were at 1U! Rachel's 1st time there... :PMy long overdue Japanese Buffet (promised since I was pregnant) finally came through... We went to Shogun, yeah, Tina (the helper cum babysitter) included... Nothing to shout about, food was just OK, I really wouldn't go back a 2nd time, cuz I don't think it's worth the money... :D
A big headache in Shogun as little Rachel was SO SO SO fussy, crying and kicking, the waiters were crowding near our table, probably waiting for us to shout for help... What I did was made her milk (an hour early), put her in the pram, shove her the bottle, and continue eating... Good thing she already started to hold her own bottle... Bad mommy eh?? hahaha
We also bought this cute headband for Rachel (the one she wearing in the picture) there, yeah, I used 'WE' here, but in actual, I chose, and hubby paid... hahaha... Both the grandmother loved it, VERY MUCH! More than me actually, hahaha... Except the time in Shogun, Rachel was pretty good... She just look around and then dozed off...
On Sunday, we gave Rachel her first solid food... It was a TOTAL disaster! We tried the Nestle Brown Rice Cereal, and I give up! I totally give up!! We did give her a little earlier than her actual feeding time, to make sure she don't get frustrated due to her hunger... But from the looks of it, she wants to chew on the spoon more than she wants to eat, and she was also reaching for the bowl an the spoon to play with it, and it was SO SO messy... Everytime I try to feed her, her hands will come and grab the spoon too... End up, ALL of us (daddy, me and Rachel) all got too annoyed and frustrated, Rachel starting crying and fussing, and we were shouting at each other! *shame shame* At the end of it, Rachel was given her milk... :DAny advice from anyone??
Solid aside, Rachel is already starting to sit for a short while without support. She is also starting to show signs of laziness (must have gotten that from me), even when she's holding her bottle... I've caught her doing it a few times this weekend, holding the bottle with 2 hands at first, and then resting 1 hand and only using her left hand to hold the bottle... (can see her laziness in the left picture, see her right hand? RESTING!)Labels: Milestone, Parenting, Rachel's Outing

Rachel's 1st outstation visit!! Ipoh was the destination... We went on 21st Oct (Sat) and came back on 22nd Oct (Sun).
No no, Tina (our maid cum babysitter) didn't tag along, so it was just me and hubby with the inlaws... Everyone was so worried we couldn't manage, but no one realised that every weekend, it was just hubby and I that settled Rachel... So it's really nothing new... *roll eyes*
If you've read the papers, there was a 200km jam on PLUS highway! Thank God, Father In Law (FIL) did a turn out to the coastal road at Sungai Buloh, and we went along Kuala Selangor way to Ipoh... It took us about 6 hours to get to Ipoh (in comparison to the 2 hours highway) but I'm sure it will take us even longer if we were to stick to PLUS highway...
InLaws are still very disturbed hearing Rachel cry, so it was a little stressful on my part, trying to make sure Rachel don't cry as much and that she will stop crying as soon as she starts! Imagine, FIL was so anxious hearing her cry, that he was stepping on the accelerator more, even when I was changing her diapers, causing me to sway left and right, while trying to change her diapers and making sure she doesn't roll off the seat! Well, since she crys a lot when put in her baby car seat, she spends most of her time carried, either by hubby or me... How to not pamper her when everyone around couldn't stand her crying? HaHaHa...
We went to Tanjung Tualang for lunch (VERY late lunch, considering it was about 3pm). Nice lunch, just I couldn't enjoy it much, with Rachel insisting that I stand and walk! We had our seafood lunch in a restaurant called Lung Seng, and the price is VERY reasonable, the fish and prawns are superbly fresh, and I love the fried noodle, though I only managed to SWALLOW tiny bit of it, no chance of savouring the taste... hehehe...
Little Rachel was cranky, VERY cranky (as you can see in the photos below)... It was all cry, fussiness and lotsa kicking, and a little sleeping... The whole night, when she sees her great grandma (GGM), she will stare, cry, stop, turn to look for GGM, stare, cry, stop and the vicious cycle continues... I don't know if GGM scared her by laughing VERY loudly while she was looking, or whether Rachel is just plain scared of all old man/woman... Happens to greatgrand uncle and aunts too... *shrug*
This will be the first trip to Ipoh that I dind't really have fun eating, cuz most of the time, I'm carrying Rachel, and was eating with 1 hand... Can't really enjoy the eating and had to be walking around a lot too!
Rachel had diarrhea (1 time only) when we reach home, I wonder if it's the water? But I did mix water we brought from home and the water we boiled there, in fact we even brought her own thermos boiler! Now that gets me a little worried for the Penang trip due end of the year for a friend's wedding... Any advice??
This is probably the first time I post so many of Rachel's crying photos!
From TOP to BOTTOM, LEFT to RIGHT:
Start of journey : being good in the baby car seat, smiling and playing, sleeping soundly
In Ipoh : GGM laughing loudly (which probably scares little Rachel), in the restaurant
Fussing Starts: Crying, crying, crying

We brought Rachel for weighing the other day, and this is for the record of Rachel when she's 4 months old.
WEIGHT : 6.9kg
LENGTH : 62.5cm
She's growing very slowly length wise... only 2.5cm this month.... hmmm..... We have also increased Rachel's feeding to 6ozs! :D

We took Rachel to Sakae Sushi in Subang Parade on Saturday.She was looking at the sushi bar for a while, probably attracted by the movement and the colorful plates, then to the flatscreen at the side for our ordering, cuz they had the screen saver on...
She then had her feeding, before she started messing with the menu, first staring at the pages and trying to turn them, then trying to put it into her mouth, then she started fussing because I didn't allow her to.... *smack forehead* She does look VERY cute when she was trying to 'flip the pages' though... I just HAD to get hubby to snap some photos..... :)
After that, it was all downhill... She fussed, she cried, she kicked! I had to eat standing up! EVERYTIME I sit down, she'll cry! The baby sling does help, cuz I could have free hands to eat... hahaha....
On Sunday, grandpa bought Rachel a lantern! Rachel's first lantern. HeHeHe.... It's for the midautumn festival this friday. NO no... Don't worry, it's not those with candles that we burnt when we were kids, but this is a super fantastic lantern! It's battery operated, with bulb to light it up, and it has MUSIC, and it TURNS!!!!! I'll post a video when I have one... She was VERY attracted to it because of the turning and the music, but all she wanted to do with it was put into her mouth! She got VERY excited at first, but then VERY VERY annoyed later, when she couldn't eat it... Inset of the photo below, shows the short good time she had with the lantern... Very shortly after the photo was taken, she cried and fussed until she went to sleep about 30 minutes later! *phew*

We went for the exhibition, in mid valley, so little Rachel got to go Mid Valley again... She was good, no major fussing, but I on the other hand, wasn't feeling very well on our way there. It was raining cats and dogs too... :(
I got what I wanted. Haha... We bought a baby sling from baybsupplies. Cost us RM99, not a bad deal, as the retail price was RM190. Washed and tried it, it was good.... Comfortable for little Rachel and me too. But hubby made a stand in not going to ever use it, cuz he says it looks like I'm wearing SARI! hehehe.... He kept complaining saying it cost too much for a silly piece of cloth though.... *shrug*
I'll post some photos of it when I have the chance. Did not manage to take photo of it yesterday when we tried it out though.... :D

I was working on Saturday, so Rachel had to go to grandma's house and Tina was the one to bath and prepare her for the day (so sad for me). Daddy was around to play with her, until I reach home around 1pm, where she had another outing to Bukit Raja Shopping Center, to meet a few of my friends.
Rachel sat in Starbucks, STARING into the faces of the 'strangers' until she fell asleep while me and friends chatted away. I had to admit, little Rachel is getting used to outings like this, and is behaving rather well, no extreme fussing and just enjoys herself looking around... :)
She had a laughing fit when we played with her upon reaching home, shrieking and laughing playing with peekaboo. We had so much fun making her laugh like that, but then regret later in the evening when she kept waking up from her sleep crying. It even happened at 2:30am that night too!! She woke up crying non stop, keeping her eyes closed like she was crying while sleeping, screaming and wailing, until she dozed off herself. SCARY!!
Sunday morning, after her midnite crying episode, she slept till 8:30am! Record time... HAHAHA.... Slide show above holds the photos of her propped up to a sitting position and slowly sliding off, and fell into a headdown 'turtle' position. She looked really funny at that time. I think she's going to be turning over very soon, she's already half way through now on her right side, possibly not turning all the way because she couldn't lift her heavy bum... hehehe....
She's also starting to show anticipation to things we do, like she'all start to squint (can't think of the accurate word to use to describe) her cheek when we kiss her.Hubby was kissing her repeatedly yesterday, while moving her body toward his face, and after a few times, she squinted even before hubby kisses her, because she knew it was coming...
Being the naughty Mommy I am, I tried to kiss her the same time Daddy does, to see her reaction. No, she didn't squint both side, but she ended up opening her mouth in an 'O' shape and waited for our kisses. Too bad I couldn't snap a photo of that cuz I was busy kissing her... Now, no wonder there are rashes on her cheek eh? hehehehehe.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On a side note, I was so bored on Sunday, so when little Rachel was having her afternoon nap, I took a photo of what must have been the mozzy's view, when it sit outside the mozzy netting of the baby playpen we have on when Rachel's asleep, waiting and looking for a way in... hahaha.... I really got nothing better to do eh? hahahaha......
It was an eventful day for little Rachel... She woke up at 8am! Imagine that, she slept at 10pm the night before, and woke up at 8am for her feeding! Did not cry, did not fuss... Good eh?? I'm happy.... hehehe....
We took little Rachel to MidValley Megamall.... She slept, she looked, she cried... But in average, she's good... Had her feeding in the car when we arrived, then looked around and slept a bit, fuss a little, next feeding was when we were on our way back, and as soon as we reached my mum's house, she poo-ed... Perfect timing eh? :D
She should be happy, as she smiled a lot, and I'm pretty sure she enjoyed looking around....
Well, the weekend is pretty eventful for her... Really... First, she got to come to Mommy's office, meeting up with all the aunties and uncles that are all anxious to see her after hearing so much of her from me, of course...
She then get to go to Sunway Pyramid (for the first time) for Nando's Chicken (well, she was just sitting there staring at us eat, no choice) with Jayna! Wonderful lunch, chatting a little, and snapping photos for a while, with Jayna swearing away at her new camera! ehehe.... This is a good photo grabbed from Jayna's blog, I like this one, look at how happy Rachel is... :)
Here's another photo taken by me, when she's nicely seated in her baby seat, on our ride home... She slept before this, tired of the journey, but as she awoke, she was attentively looking at the scenery pass by... It was good photography opportunity... :DI like this photo, the colour, the brightness, shows her tiny birth hair (err, how do you say it? the best word found is hair, but not those on top of her head, *shrug*) on her forehead... And her chubbiness shows even more.... :D
I'm happy, but I don't know about her.... hahaha.... selfish mom eh?
On Sunday, she even got a treat to morning breakfast outing with the grandparents, of course she only got to sit and watch while the parents and grandparents nicely eating Bah Kut Teh (a chinese delicacy, popular in Klang : Sorta like a pork stew with chinese herbs). It was her first so far, but I'm sure when she does start eating solid food, she'll get this breakfast treat every Sunday, as it's grandpa's favourite Sunday breakfast... :D
Little Rachel must be SO tired after an exhausting weekend, with so many outings, that she just slept through soundly, the Sunday evening, that when Daddy and I try to wake her up for her night time routine for bed, this is how she look like, dozing off while she's being wiped too.... hahahahahaha
