*SOB* Rachel was very sick yesterday night, 38.8 degree, and coughing and sniffing, tossing and turning NON STOP... Tecky and I also didn't get to sleep well... SIGH...

I know, this is to build Rachel's antibody.. But it's really heart breaking, listening to her cough every other seconds, and not been able to get her to spit the phelgm out... Then seeing her toss and turn and cry of discomfort... I hope she don't ever get sick anymore...

Yesterday night, was a whole new experience for me as a new mother of 8++ months... To see my kid so sick... I really really felt like IF ONLY I CAN BE SICK ON HER BEHALF... Parenting is tough, but seeing the kid sick, is so much tougher, not to mention that she's so manja and sticks to me at all time too, because of her sickness... All spells TIRENESS, mentally and physically... (cuz I cannot stop worrying... *slap forehead*)

I hope she gets well soon...

Yes lor, Rachel is sick liao... (or the record, this is the 2nd time she's sick, the first being a slight fever)... And I know where she got the virus from... READ HERE!!! :( She got flu, was coughing and coughing in the morning and slight fever too (the last I measured, 37.9)... I suspect the fever might be due to teething, but I am no doctor lar... hahaha...

I have to add (too bad I didn't video her), it was easy giving her to medicine (dunno if because it's sweet)... I tot I was goin to have trouble, cuz 3 different medicine mar, 2.5ml each... BUT HOH, this gal of mine, take liao ask fo more, somemore give her she suck suck suck... like so happy... hahaha...

Rachel was down with fever last Saturday (28 October 2006)!!

In the morning, I thought I felt that she was a little warmer than usual, took a temperature from her armpit, and it shows 37! Being the ignorant mommy I am, 37 OK MAR! No fever! So I gave her a bath, and allowed her some playing time in the water...

Late morning, she was warmer than morning, and this time I am quite certain she's having fever, but again, the temperature taken from her armpit shows otherwise! We did took her to the paed (my aunt) since my brother was having a bad fever too... There, she was measuring 37.3, so we thought, OK lar, minor only...

Little did I know, my aunt then told me, "AIYOH!!! Must add 0.5 if temperature taken from armpit. You didn't know ar? So she's actually 37.8 degree C"
*SLAP FOREHEAD* like that ar, since morning she already having fever ler!

To all new parents : Always add 0.5 to the temperature if you measured from the armpit yeah... Remember! :D

So, Rachel was down with fever on Saturday, and it stretched to Sunday, but she's ok now... Because I bought coolFever for my little bro (high temperature), I put the other piece on Rachel too, and I think she look cute... hehehe... Anyway, after reading the instructions saying it shouldn't be put on rashes etc skin, we took it out, then somehow, stuck it to the back of her head! hahaha.... What to do, Rachel got naughty parents.... :D

Below is the slide that shows Rachel taking medicine... I expected it to be harder, but she was OK, probably because the medicine was sweet, so she just spit out a little while trying to swallow, and I stuck her water bottle into her mouth to allow her to swallow the way she knows how to...

Little Rachel had diarrhea again yesterday. 3 times in the afternoon-evening, and again during mid-nite/morning (I'm not sure how many times though, cuz I was sleeping, and waking up to a smelly butt). She is still her usual self, not more fussy, so that kind of takes some worries away, cuz she's still smiling and playing. But, how can a mother not be worried when she know something is not right? I don't know what causes the diarrhea, I don't know how to make her better...

I talked to my aunt (which is Rachel's paed), but she didn't say anything, just gave me 2 capsule to be diluted in water for Rachel, once a day... And hubby is away in Brunei... :(

Little princess had a case of diarrhoea yesterday evening... Lucky it was only one time, but I still called my aunt (a paediatrician) to confirm... Of course, the answer was, wait and see if it happens more... Good thing it didn't... I did check her temperature and all, other than the watery feces in her pampers and her unusually loud crying@shouting, everything else was normal... She drinks her milk, just sometimes a little lesser (1 or 2 ozs. lesser) and she sleeps well too.... I guess it's nothing major... It was still just one time since yesterday evening, so it's good news.... :D

Yesterday evening marks the first time that something 'unusual' and should be iven more attention happening... Something we can't run away from... But funny thing is, I was just answering an ex-colleague's question the day before, on whether "Has Rachel had her first sickness?"!! *roll eyes*
